Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Designates Children’s Service Center of Wyoming Valley as a Federally Qualified Health Center, Look-Alike

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has designated Children’s Service Center of Wyoming Valley (CSC) as a Federally Qualified Health Center, Look-Alike (FQHC-LAL) to support expansion of the Conyngham Primary Health Care Center to improve access to services for high-need, underserved, or vulnerable populations.

“We are eager to improve access to care for all members of the community. Our role as an FQHC-LAL focuses on reaching more patients and providing more comprehensive services through an integrated model of care,” said Christopher Boyle, President and CEO, Children’s Service Center. “The provision of combined primary care and mental health services will improve preventive care, such as screenings and immunizations, while ensuring timely care to minimize health challenges and remove financial barriers that sometimes prevent families from accessing care when they need it most.”

While the designation does not include federal grant funding, it supports the provision of services for patients under government-sponsored programs (Medicare and Medicaid), while setting quality improvement standards, offering a sliding-fee discount for eligible patients and families, and access to a pharmacy discount enrollment program.

The Conyngham Primary Health Care Center, located at 335 S. Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA, is open every weekday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM. Walk-ins are welcome and appointments are recommended by calling 570-301-0924.
